Loving Our Enemies

Matthew 5:44 KJV
[44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

It is so hard for us to love those that hurt us. We often seek revenge and want to hurt the ones who have hurt us. But what if we loved them instead? Isn't that what a God has commanded us to do?

If there is one that I have learned about God's word, it is that there are no exceptions. It doesn't tell us to love them, except if they do this or that.

We are all human. Sometimes I lash out at my loved ones when I'm hurting, scared, or not doing what I'm supposed to be doing. When I'm in that state, I need love, understanding, and compassion the most. Even though my actions might say otherwise.

The more we practice the loving state, the more natural it will become in our lives. I want to react with love first, instead of anger.   Since this is my weakness, it is something that I have to work on constantly. It is not my place to judge others,  but my responsibility to love them.

Love and blessings,

Candida
